My Life in Photos

The 1970s

It all began in 1973 (well, to be precise it probably began around September 1972):
1973 was the year that I was born. I came into the world on the 21st June (which for the astrologers out there makes me on the cusp of Gemini and Cancer). Luckily no-one photographed my arrival, but here is a picture of me as a baby (with my lovely older Brother, Paul). The astute among you may notice that I look confused and that I'm dribbling - little has changed subsequently!

I don't remember an awful lot about the 70s. What I do remember is Tom Baker being Dr. Who, and various bits of music (Blondie, ABBA and Adam and the Ants mainly). Nevertheless I was alive during this period and here are some snaps to prove it.

With my lovely brother again (as ever he was looking after me like all good big brothers should). The red dungarees were not my choice but my mum assures me that they were the height of fashion.

On my own this time (my brother presumably having a break from his role as my guardian).

The 1980s

Well, the 80s were a strange time and the latter half of them was taken up with being a teenager. The less said about this process the better (and I'm certainly not showing anyone any pictures of the horrific experience ...)

The 1990s

Why do children have to grow up? Primarily to promote ugliness I think and from the cute little blond-haired munchkin came the rancid deformity we see before us today. Look at the following pictures and wonder how something so young and sweet could become such an abhorrence:

From 1989-1996 I spent most of my time in a band. This is a picture from about 1992 when we were still very much in our thrash metal phase.
This is me and the drummer Mark (red top) in a recording studio in Wembley around 1993.
This was us playing in a pub somewhere in London, again around 2003. By this time we were going through our experimental, weird time signature phase (hence the strange hair). We split up in 1996, and I don't have any particularly recent photos, but our last gig was at East Slope Bar at Sussex Uni.
This is me in 1995, in my office at Sussex University pretending to work hard for my Ph.D..
At Niagara falls (May 1998). The hair had to go ... I was getting too many jokes about being the Timotei Boy:
Sydney 1999
Ayer's Rock 1999
At the Royal Holloway Student Christmas Party (December 1999). Not sure how I got my arm twisted to do this ...

The 2000s

Different band, different instrument, but still enjoying making a racket ...

Life stops here .
